Marine information system bulletin

The creation of the Maritime Information System (SIM) is a joint project of Innovation maritime and Sodes, in collaboration with the five Quebec Canadian port authorities, the Canadian Coast Guard, Transport Canada, Transport Québec and the Secrétariat aux affaires maritimes. The main objective is to set up a system for collecting, processing and disseminating useful information to the various players in the maritime world. The project is being carried out under the aegis of the Forum de concertation sur le transport maritime, and involves a number of partners who, by sharing their data, experience and expertise, are able to offer an essential information tool to those interested in the development of the maritime sector. This tool is constantly being improved, and new data will be added over time.

The SIM takes the form of a centralized IT system accessible via a web portal, bringing together various shipping statistics. A free 2-day trial period is offered.

Update April 2020: SIM enters its second phase, and the newsletter pauses until further notice.

The SIM Bulletin is published 4 times a year.
