The Comité sectoriel de main-d’oeuvre de l’industrie maritime launches a new training program on psychological and sexual harassment adapted to the maritime industry.

Quebec City, September 28, 2023 – The Comité sectoriel de main-d’œuvre de l’industrie maritime (CSMOIM) has just launched its brand new training program on Psychological and Sexual Harassment: Awareness and Training Adapted to the Realities of Maritime Sector Personnel. It is available in virtual form (online) and is aimed at workers in the maritime industry (land and sea). Collège de Rimouski has been mandated to develop this training program. This project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the CNESST through its Program to Combat Psychological and Sexual Harassment in the Workplace (Programme visant la lutte contre le harcèlement psychologique ou sexuel dans les milieux de travail).

In response to a request from players in the Quebec maritime industry, the CSMOIM is now offering a training course to demystify the concept of harassment, suggest interventions and delineate the responsibilities of employers and employees, all while presenting situation scenarios adapted to and inspired by the maritime context. Lasting approximately three (3) hours, this training is offered online.

Harcèlement psychologique et sexuel : Sensibilisation et formation adaptée à la réalité du personnel du secteur maritime offers ten (10) modules, including a presentation of the legal and legislative context, a description of an inclusive and safe work environment, and guidelines for action to take when one is a victim, witness or accused of harassment. A toolbox is also available in the last module of this training course.

For further information, please consult the description of the training course Harcèlement psychologique et sexuel : Sensibilisation et formation adaptée à la réalité du personnel du secteur maritime.
