October 27, 2015 marks the 15th edition of Québec Marine Day, organized by the St. Lawrence Economic Development Council (SODES) and the St Lawrence Shipoperators. This annual event, recognized by Québec government Order-in-Council, allows marine industry representatives to meet with the elected Members of the National Assembly of Québec to inform them about key current issues.
This year’s Québec Marine Day theme is ”Transporting safely and securely.” In a context in which the public, the media and stakeholders from various sectors frequently raise questions related to transport security, it is crucial that the industry and parliamentarians discuss existing and planned measures linked to marine-sector operations.
To highlight this important meeting between the industry and elected officials, this special newsletter contains messages from Québec Premier Philippe Couillard and Québec Minister for Transport and the Implementation of the Maritime Strategy Jean D’Amour.
