SODES PRESENTS MIS TO NAVIGATION COORDINATION COMMITTEE

On March 20, SODES and Innovation maritime will present the Maritime Information System (MIS) to the members of the Navigation Coordination Committee (NCC).

Composed of representatives of the marine industry, environmental stakeholders, governments and the general public, the Navigation Coordination Committee was set up in 1998 after studies conducted by various St. Lawrence Plan stakeholders showed that commercial navigation and recreational boating had environmental impacts. Creation of a dredging activity planning registry, implementation of a voluntary measure for reducing vessel speeds in erosion-sensitive areas and a study on the impacts of climate change on shipping are examples of projects successfully developed by this Committee.
