SODES participates in sustainable mobility policy

The Ministère des Transports, de la Mobilité durable et de l’Électrification des transports (Department of transport, sustainable mobility and transport electrification) is currently working on developing a sustainable mobility policy. This government policy, to be released in April 2018, will cover all modes of transport, types of passenger travel and means of goods movement for all regions of Québec. It will address public transit and active transportation, marine, air and rail transport, and road network intervention measures. At the Québec government’s invitation, the St. Lawrence Economic Development Council (SODES) is participating in the work of the Comité consultatif à l’appui de l’élaboration de la Politique de mobilité durable (advisory committee supporting sustainable mobility policy development), mandated to advise Transport Québec throughout the process, thereby giving SODES an opportunity to highlight shipping’s environmental advantages as a means of goods transport.
