PREMIER PHILIPPE COUILLARD MEETS WITH THE MARITIME COMMUNITY

On June 14, at its luncheon conference at Aquarium du Québec, SODES welcomed Québec Premier Philippe Couillard and Minister for Maritime Affairs Jean D’Amour.

In his address A new Québec that takes full advantage of its maritime potential to the approximately 100 guests from the marine industry and municipal sector in attendance, the Premier reported on the first Québec Maritime Strategy action plan and summarized the achievements to date. The event also provided an opportunity to discuss the human resources shortage, a pressing problem for the marine industry.

Minister D’Amour reminded those present that the next Québec Maritime Strategy five-year action plan is to be envisaged in collaboration with the members of the maritime community.

Participants were pleased at these remarks and left the event feeling confident in the Maritime Strategy’s future.
