2018 SODES RENDEZ-VOUS – ENERGY TRANSITION AND SHIPPING: MORE GREEN THAN BLUE

Don’t miss this key maritime community event!

The St. Lawrence Economic Development Council (SODES) is pleased to announce that, in 2018, the 5th edition of its event SODES Rendez-vous will be held under the banner Energy Transition and Shipping: More Green than Blue. Given the release of Québec’s 2030 energy policy in April 2016, the creation of the organization Transition énergétique Québec one year later and the sustainable mobility policy scheduled to be made public next spring, SODES’ annual conference will highlight partnerships to establish with shippers to achieve the greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets defined by the Government. Moreover, SODES Rendez-vous will offer an opportunity to recall the importance of fully integrating goods transport into the various government programs aimed at GHG reduction. The event will feature a roster of key stakeholders, who will address how to make shipping a preferred energy transition player and discuss R&D, innovation and energy efficiency, among others.

Sodes will be hosting a number of noted guest speakers:

M. André Fortin, Minister of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transport Electrification[MG1] , Ministère des Transports, de la Mobilité durable et de l’Électrification des Transports (TBC)
M. Pierre-Olivier Pineau, HEC Montréal
M. Alex van Breedam, TRI-VIZOR NV, Belgique
Jessica Norup, Transports Canada
Gaétan Simard, GHGES Marine Solutions
