NATIONAL TRADE CORRIDORS FUND CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Government of Canada will invest $2 billion over 11 years, under the Trade and Transportation Corridors Initiative (TTCI), in the National Trade Corridors Fund, a merit-based program designed to make Canada’s trade corridors more efficient and more reliable.

A call for proposals will be issued on January 15, 2019 and the Government will accept statements of interest as of this date.

The projects proposed must target the following objectives:

  • Improve the fluidity and/or performance of the transportation system to contribute to an increase in the value and/or volume of goods exported from Canada to overseas markets;
  • Increase existing or generate new overseas trade flows as a result of the investment.

Projects will also be assessed on their potential for adding capacity or reducing bottlenecks near major ports, airports, and along road and rail corridors in Canada that contribute to developing overseas trade.
