Chantal Rouleau given responsibility for shipping file

SODES is pleased to learn that the Minister for Transport and Minister responsible for the Metropolis and the Montréal Region, Chantal Rouleau, will be in charge of maritime affairs.

For many years, the Québec government and marine industry have enjoyed a productive relationship based on mutual trust and a commitment to developing a sustainable maritime economy in the St. Lawrence – Great Lakes Trade Corridor.

The Marine Industry Forum has proven to be the perfect venue for fostering this collaboration. This consensus-building body, which groups together the Québec marine industry and the provincial government, was set up to ensure efficient deployment of the different measures proposed in the Marine Transportation Policy (adopted in June 2001) and implementation of the Maritime Strategy (launched in June 2015).

SODES ensures Ms. Rouleau of its full collaboration and will be happy to join forces with the Ministère des Transports du Québec to continue the work begun on responsible marine sector development.
